OPEN-SOURCE WORLD SIMULATION

People, nature, society, economy, cities, and history — treated as one connected world.

Simulating why this city exists here, now.

MachiVerse does not begin with a finished city placed into the world. It aims to let the present emerge through people, environments, society, economy, and the accumulation of time — so that the reasons behind the world can be traced.

Not a finished world,
but the process by which a world becomes itself.

A city may be here not because someone placed it there from the start. Water made the land livable. People gathered. Work emerged. Roads followed. The city expanded, and what once was change became a familiar landscape to the next generation.

MachiVerse aims to treat cities, residents, and environments not as static finished objects, but as states shaped by past conditions and choices, with present changes continuing into the future.

Not merely “building a world,”
but simulating why the world became what it is.

A world changes as a result of
many things being connected.

01

Nature changes how people live

Terrain, water, and vegetation are intended to be world states that influence settlement, production, industry, and transportation rather than mere scenery.

02

Human activity creates society

Individual lives and choices can connect into families, work, organizations, education, and other relationships that alter the social state.

03

Economy changes the shape of cities

Resources, production, logistics, markets, and movement are intended to connect so that their accumulated effects appear in towns and cities.

04

Change remains as history

Events are not meant to vanish after they happen. Past states should influence later states, leaving reasons that can be traced in the present.

Keep not only the current state,
but the reasons that led to it.

MachiVerse is designed to preserve more than the outcome of a change: it also aims to represent the triggers and surrounding states that produced it. The project's central idea is that history should influence what comes next and make it possible to trace why the world became what it is.

Live inside the world. Participate as a member of society rather than controlling everything from outside.

Not above the world,
but inside it as one resident.

MachiVerse calls its participant role the “Diver.” The long-term goal is not an omnipotent outside operator, but a resident who participates within the world's rules, time, social relationships, and reactions from others.

A Diver's actions can become events in the world, propagate through their surroundings, and eventually become part of the world's history.

Not finished yet.
But no longer only a concept.

MachiVerse is still under active development, and it has not reached its full large-scale vision. In Alpha 1.0, however, the first end-to-end loop — viewing the world, issuing an operation, changing authoritative state, and receiving the result — runs across real components.

Help grow this world.

MachiVerse is developed as an open-source project. If you want to contribute through engineering or implementation, the developer page provides entry points to the Quick Start, design documents, and Contribution Guide.
